Frequently asked questions
What is the right seat height?
Higher than on an ordinary office chair: the hips sit clearly above the knees, the pelvis then tilts forward and the lumbar spine straightens by itself. Set a Capisco to the height of a normal chair and you will sit worse than before.
Which gas lift is the right one?
The gas lift sets the height, not the model. 150 mm for shorter people and low desks, 200 mm as standard (46–64 cm), 265 mm for standing desks, counters and workbenches — then with glides or braked castors and a step-up aid.
Are armrests available?
No. The Capisco is designed without armrests so that you can sit forwards, backwards and sideways. If you need armrests, you will find them on the HÅG SoFi, Creed, Futu and Tion.
What is the difference between the 8106 and the 8107?
The 8107 is the 8106 with a headrest — nothing else. On both, the seat height comes from the gas lift.
Up to what user weight?
110 kg permitted user weight, for use up to nine hours a day. The Capisco is not certified for round-the-clock shift work.
How long are spare parts available?
At least ten years from the date of manufacture — covers, gas lifts, castors, bases. Replacement covers we keep in stock.

HAG Capisco in detail
If you like innovative solutions, the HÅG Capisco is exactly the right office chair for you. You will hardly find another chair that is so well suited to working at different levels or at a height-adjustable desk. On a HÅG Capisco you sit forwards and sideways with equal comfort, and your reach is impressive. This chair has won a string of awards for its unusual properties and its distinctive design. It also set standards in the industry with its environmentally conscious design, and to this day it still has a very good environmental record compared with its competitors. You can choose a HÅG Capisco with a clear conscience.
Dynamic ergonomics
Have you ever wondered what the best sitting position is? Definitely not the one you are sitting in right now, but always the next one. That is why an ergonomic chair follows you quite naturally into the next position. It pays attention to the movements of your body – the small, gentle ones and the large, sweeping ones – and comes to rest when your body wants it to. A chair like this lets you concentrate fully on your work, because it prevents a rigid posture and encourages muscle activity. You move without thinking about it. That stimulates the circulation, improves the supply of oxygen and increases alertness.
Environment
The seat of the HÅG Capisco is made from recycled plastic that comes from car bumpers and plastic waste. All plastic parts are marked, which makes sorting them for later recycling easier. HÅG is registered with EMAS – the European Union's eco-management and audit scheme. HÅG also operates an environmental management system that meets the requirements of ISO 14001.
Design
The design of the HÅG Capisco – the saddle chair – was inspired by the dynamic sitting position of a rider on a horse. The chair offers optimum freedom of movement and suits any desk height. The designer Peter Opsvik and his colleagues have been working with HÅG since 1974 and have helped shape the company's philosophy.
The five Capisco models at a glance
All five share the same base, the same mechanism and the same range of fabrics. What differs is the shape of the seat, the headrest and how much equipment is included.
- 8106 — saddle seat without a headrest: the standard model, fully equipped
- 8107 — like the 8106, plus a height-adjustable, removable headrest
- 8126 — a flat seat instead of the saddle, for anyone who does not get on with a saddle
- 8127 — the 8126 with a headrest
- 8105 — the slimmed-down version: no seat tilt, no seat-depth or backrest adjustment, but with a 265 mm gas lift as standard

Still have questions?
Capisco or Capisco Puls — what is the difference?
Same mechanism, different shell. The Capisco has an upholstered, covered backrest; the Capisco Puls has a plastic shell available in nine colours — plainer and less expensive. Within the Puls range, the 8010 and 8020 differ in the seat: the 8010 has a plastic saddle with a cushion insert, the 8020 is fully upholstered. The 8001 and 8002 stools have no backrest at all.
Which fabric suits my workplace?
Nine fabrics in seven price groups. Xtreme (Camira) is both the least expensive and the most hard-wearing — over 100,000 Martindale rubs, made from fully recycled polyester. Select and Capture (Gabriel) are wool fabrics with 200,000 Martindale rubs and a warmer feel. Oceanic is made from plastic bottles and ocean plastic. Elmosoft and Paloma are chrome-free tanned leathers.

Where the Capisco works well — and where it does not
Well: at a height-adjustable desk, at high tables and workbenches, in the laboratory, at the till, anywhere people alternate between sitting and standing. The saddle seat also allows you to sit sideways and backwards — you can get closer to the table.
Not suitable: for 24-hour operation. The Capisco is tested to EN 1335 (eight hours a day, up to 110 kg), not to BS 5459-2. For control rooms and shift work we carry other models. And: there are no armrests for the Capisco — that is a deliberate part of the design.
Accessories: foot ring, step-up aid, headrest
Anyone sitting high up needs somewhere to rest their feet. With the foot ring (Ø 450 mm), Flokk approves the tall 265 mm gas lift only together with glides or braked castors and a step-up aid — StepUp or Quickstep. The GS mark applies expressly to that combination. The headrest of the 8107 is height-adjustable and removable, in four frame colours.
Dimensions, weight and delivery
Base Ø 73 cm, seat width 47 cm. Seat height depending on the gas lift: 40–53 cm (150 mm), 46–64 cm (200 mm, standard) or 55–80 cm (265 mm). The 8106 weighs 12.1 kg, the 8107 with a headrest 14.4 kg. It is delivered in a carton of 0.129 m³; assembled on request.
Warranty, spare parts and care
10-year warranty for use of up to nine hours a day, and a lifetime warranty on the safety gas lifts. Flokk keeps spare parts for at least ten years from the date of manufacture — that date is on the label under the seat. Important: the warranty lapses if non-original parts are used.
