How the HÅG Capisco is delivered — and what assembly involves
In short: you need one person, five minutes and an Allen key. The Capisco is not simply pushed together — one joint is bolted, and bolted to a torque figure. That is exactly the step most people skip, and exactly the one that later carries the backrest.
One chair, one parcel
The Capisco travels as a parcel. A carton holds 0.129 m³, and the chair itself weighs, depending on the model, 12.1 kg (8106), 14.4 kg (8107) or around 11.5 kg (Puls 8010 and 8020). One person can carry that. A Euro pallet takes fifteen unassembled chairs — or four assembled ones; that tells you how much air there is in an assembled chair.
What is in the carton
- Seat unit with seat and mechanism — fully assembled
- Back support with backrest — separate, to be bolted on
- Base, usually with the castors or glides already pushed in
- Gas lift
- on the 8107 also the headrest
- any accessories ordered, such as a footring, StepUp or Quickstep
Plus an Allen key. If it is missing, any ordinary set will do — exactly one size is needed.
Assembly in the manufacturer's order
This is how the HÅG assembly instruction puts it (item no. 137243). The order is not arbitrary: the back support is easiest to bolt on while the seat unit is still lying on the table.
- Lay the seat unit on the table, underside up.
- Slide the back support in. It goes into the socket of the mechanism from the front, until it seats.
- Bolt it — to 14 Nm. This is the step that matters. At this point the instruction shows a warning sign and a muscle symbol of its own: tight means tight. Tighten it only hand-warm and after a few weeks you will have a backrest with play — and will then look for the fault in the mechanism.
- Insert the gas lift vertically into the base.
- Set the seat unit onto the gas lift from above. It is held by a taper; firm pressure is enough, the rest is done by your own weight the first time you sit down.
- 8107 only: push the headrest in until you hear it click. Without the click it is not seated.
- Adjust it. The step most people skip and later regret. The instructions for that →
On the Capisco Puls (8010/8020) the principle is the same, it merely starts differently: there you first loosen the bolt in the seat shell, then insert the back support, then likewise tighten to 14 Nm. Gas lift and seat follow as above.
Assembly on film
Flokk shows the steps on film — the manufacturer's own videos, not re-shot. The commentary is in English and every step is visible throughout; what matters most is written out above. The video is only loaded once you click it, and then plays here on the page.

The original instructions to take away
We pass the manufacturer's documents on — the very ones we use ourselves. They are multilingual, English is included, and every working step is illustrated:
- HÅG Capisco — assembly instructions (PDF)
- HÅG Capisco Puls — assembly instructions (PDF)
- HÅG Capisco — user manual (PDF, 2024 edition)
- HÅG Capisco Puls — user manual (PDF, 2024 edition)
On a new chair the user manual is, incidentally, under the seat — nobody looks for it there, hence the note.
When the chair arrives assembled
ESD versions (for electrostatically protected workplaces) are always shipped assembled by Flokk, because the conductivity cannot otherwise be tested. This version is available for the Capisco 8106 and the Puls 8001/8010, not for the 8107.
For larger orders we take on delivery and assembly on site — we settle that in the quotation. More for business customers →
Shipping and delivery time
We deliver free of shipping charges throughout Europe. How fast it goes is stated on the individual item — that figure is binding and comes from our actual stock. What is in stock usually goes out the same or the next working day.
Damage in transit — what then?
Unpack the chair while the driver is still there if the carton is visibly damaged. Photograph both the carton and the damage and send us both at support@hag-shop.com. We will sort it out with the carrier — it is not something you should have to wrestle with.
